Tommaso Antonino Aiello, is a Southern Italian-Greek, Catholic Artist and Byzantine Iconographer of Calabrese, Napoletano, and Siciliano origins. He practices the Latin and Byzantine rites of Catholicism. He resides in Wayne, New Jersey and was born on 23 July 1991. He has been painting for most of his life. He began studying Byzantine Iconography at the age of 15. He has grown through the years with a deep love and understanding for God and the love He has for us all. He also restores religious statues for churches and the faithful, adding to his repertoire. His devotion to God and his positive influence to use Icons as windows into the heart and soul during prayer and daily life as a way to become closer to God is one of his greatest passions. Tommaso is very passionate about teaching others about respecting and truly understanding Byzantine Icons and their role in the church and in our spirituality, as they are beautiful windows into Heaven! Tommaso's greatest quality as an artist is his true passion and love that he puts into all his work. He is passionate about the fine arts including cooking, languages, world cultures and history, music, fashion, interior and exterior decorating/design, gardening, theology, writing, singing, drawing and painting, and generally anything that has to do with the fine arts. Tommaso speaks Italian and French. He also has a good understanding of a few Italian dialects, Spanish, Greek, as well as Liturgical Greek and Latin. Tommaso has 5 and a half years experience as a Catechist, in which he taught children about God’s mercy and love for all people. He is also very passionate about preserving the ancient Judeo-Christian foundation that the Christian faith was built upon as well as fully embracing the beautiful and ancient liturgical traditions of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church by truly understanding and following them in today's modern world. His close and loving relationship with God shines through in his humble, gentle, and loving personality and spirit.
